This matte painting started as a photo of buildings on Lake St in Northbridge (a suburb in Perth, Australia). My first point of business was removing all trees.
This is actually pretty teched up with some semblance of machinery and a rustic wind powered generator. A subtle inclusion I thought.
This is long after the change of ~life as we know it~. Long enough to salvage, rebuild and reappropriate technology. I see it as an optimistic concept though. The guy’s half-suit is pretty high tech, implying a distant future… Additionally, mankind is not extinct!
Post apocalyptic versions of cities like New York or Washington DC have been overdone to death I think. I'm very happy to see one of a different city.
It's on the last batch of business cards I got printed, too.
Haven't heard the term junk-punk before but I like it. I'm going to adopt it.
